CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#109) Adding Color to Metallics

Happy Monday Blog Friends & Followers!

Today's tip is a quick tip.
Want to add color to your silver or white brads, staples, eyelets &/or other metallic embellishments?

Try using Alcohol Inks. This includes Copic Markers! Just heat set with your heat tool after coloring, making sure not to touch them because metal embellishments get hot.
You can also just let them dry overnight.
Hope you give it a try!

  1. This is such a fabulous tip! I've used them to ink white flowers, but it never occurred to me that I could use them for metal embellishments. I have a little box of silver brads that always get ignored... now I'll have to somehow resist coloring them all tonight instead of waiting to see what colors I need. ;) Thanks for the info! :o)

  3. Great tip!! I don't have copics, but do have most of the Ranger alcohol inks. I just used them for this on my most recent LO! If I find a cool non-porous embellishment, I don't have to worry if it is the right color or not since I can change the color with my alcohol ink. My alcohol inks have more than paid for themselves this way!! ~ Blessings
